Hey Fam,
I just wanted to clear something up right quick… As you know if you’re here, the church family has agreed to read through the entire bible this year starting as part of our fast and pressing on through the rest of the year to really read God’s word. I’ve spoken to a few people and it seems some are doing different reading plans than others. On the site, (linked on your right), there are 5 reading plans. It doesn’t really matter which one you chose but the one that most people are on and the one we recommend is the one called BEGINNING. This one starts at genesis and reads all the way through in that order. If you’ve started another and want to continue just go on. The point is to read through it and specially through this time of fasting, to really feast on God’s word and store it in your heart… I’m already hearing good reports and getting a lot of questions regarding the word of God and that’s a great place to be!

This morning I was stalling with reading my word. Truth is I didn’t feel like it (Just like PJ preached on the Flesh this past Sunday) but eventually I got to reading and I couldn’t put it down. I read for quite a while ( I’m not bragging guys) i felt like I was transported to another place. My car, partner, people walking near my car all dissapeared. I felt God talking directly to my soul. I felt the promises God made to some of these people in the Bible were for me. Going through something at work now (seems that way when you separate yourself for Christ). I feel a resolve in my heart to just keep on going. Keep it up guys! You can do this! God bless

This is my first Daniel Fast its interesting because I thought
I would be having a more difficult place but you guys are encouraging. And its true about how the word comes alive. I was reading about Lot and his family and then thought wow I wonder how that affected him regarding his wife. I don’t think I ever thought about that before.
I have been doing a different type of fast. At first I wanted to do the fast to loose weight I was pumped and everything. But where is the challenge in the spiritual sense NONE. That’s not what that should be for. So my fast has entailed no TV. See for me I am such a TV junkie I could sit and watch TV for hours and days at a time. I could tell you who what when and where a TV show is up too. So for me I wanted something different that would challenge me. I also am not reading secular books. And for those that know me know that I LOVE to read. So I have been reading Christian novels (Karen Kingsbury) awesome author. I have to say that unplugging from the secular world and plugging in to everything the lord has from music to reading to worshiping everyday with IHOP prayer room has been an amazing experience. I’m reading the word everyday and man the bible is better to read lol mad drama.…lol. So for me the food wouldn’t make a diff cause I still would’ve turned on that TV and continued on my daily routine and that wouldn’t be effective. Even my kids are asking why I am not watching TV. That goes to show that they see what we do and what takes up most of our time. Its not easy but if I want to see signs and wonders I have to change where I plug my time at. So be encouraged as we go through the journey together.
